Officer cadets wrote exams twice a year while at military college, once in December and again in the spring.

Military cadets who passed all their exams went on a week-long camping trip at the end of their academic year. This trip, known as "Operation Northbound" was held at Portland Island, just off Sidney in British Columbia.

Physical training was an important part of military college life, and this image shows exercises completed in the gymansium.

Royal Roads rugby team wore white, HMCS in gold/blue. It is believed that this was the annual "Admiral HIbbard Trophy" game.
