The Clifford Sifton ship was built in 1899 on Bennett lake and travelled between Bennett, Dawson and White Horse. It was wrecked in 1904. The ship was named for the Minister of the Interior, Clifford Sifton (1896-1905) who implemented various policies to encourage immigration to western Canada.

Ernest Shackleton's ship stuck in ice

This picture shows a ship stuck in ice. Although captioned as Shackleton's ship, this is quite likely the RRS Discovery, captained by Robert Falcon Scott. It became stuck in ice on the expedition to the South Pole in 1902. Shackleton was part of the crew during this voyage.

In September 1901, the Duke and Duchess of Cornwall & York (later King George V and Queen Mary) visited Victoria during their 1901 tour of Canada. The Duchess spent time with Laura Dunsmuir and visited Burleith. James Dunsmuir was Premier of the province at this time.
