Peter Gordon Robson attended Canadian Services College Royal Roads from 1956-1958. Born in 1938, he joined the Royal Canadian Air Force. He was at the No.2 Advanced Flying School when he was killed in a crash of a T-33 jet trainer near Baldur, MN on 19 September, 1960.

Brian Bell-Irving attended HMCS Royal Roads from 1943-1945. Born 2 January, 1926, Bell-Irving became a Royal Canadian Navy pilot. He died when the brakes apparently failed during a normal landing on the carrier HMCS Bonaventure.

George Keith Clendinnen attended Canadian Services College Royal Roads from 1950-1952. Born in 1931, he served with the Army in the Royal Canadian Dragoons. He was killed during training manoeuvres at Meaford, ON on 2 July 1958.

George Ross Rayment attended Canadian Services College Royal Roads from 1951-1953. Born in 1932, he served in the Royal Canadian Air Force. He was serving with the 423 All Weather Fighter Squadron in Grostenquin, France when he was killed in a mid-air collision between two CF-100s on 25 August 1958.

William Herbert Johnston attended Canadian Services College Royal Roads from 1951-1953. Born in 1932, he joined the Royal Canadian Air Force and was stationed in PEI when he was killed in a F-86 crash on 15 January, 1957.

Richard Francis Slee attended Canadian Services College Royal Roads from 1951-1953. Born in 1932, he served in the Royal Canadian Air Force. He was stationed at Chatham, NB when he was killed during training on 8 February, 1955.

Robert William Kostiuk attended Canadian Services College Royal Roads from 1949-1951. Born in 1929, he served with the Royal Canadian Air Force. He was stationed with 444 Fighter Squadron at Baden-Soellingen, Germany, and was killed on 12 June, 1955 when his F-86 Sabre aircraft rolled while turning on a final approach to land.

Ronald Frank “Dutch” Holland attended Canadian Services College Royal Roads from 1949-1951. Born in 1930, he served with the Royal Canadian Air Force. He was killed when his CF-100 exploded in Lake Nipissing, ON on 17 August, 1954.

James Alick Marshall attended Canadian Services College Royal Roads from 1950-1952. Born in 1932, he served with the Royal Canadian Air Force. He was with the No. 3 Advanced Flying School when he was killed in a training exercise at Portage La Prairie on 17 July 1954.

Ernest Alfred Brown attended Canadian Services College Royal Roads from 1951-1953. Born in 1933, he joined the Royal Canadian Air Force on completion of his program at Royal Roads. He was training at No. 2 Flying School in Moose Jaw, SK when he was killed during a night navigation flight on August 5, 1953.

John Sydney Murphy attended HMCS Royal Roads from 1942 to 1943. He was in the first class to graduate from The Royal Canadian Naval College, Royal Roads. Born April 28, 1924, Murphy was serving on HMCS Shearwater when he was lost in an air crash on April 17, 1952.

Arthur Graham Herman attended Canadian Services College Royal Roads from 1948 to 1949. Born in 1928, he was serving the army when he was killed at Majon-ni, Korea on 19 August 1952.

William John Spencer attended HMCS Royal Roads from 1942 to 1943. He was in the first class to graduate from The Royal Canadian Naval College, Royal Roads. Born May 17, 1924, he served in battleships HMS King George V and Howe. He obtained his wings in February 1947 and died in a plane crash in Halifax, Nova Scotia, 24 April, 1952.

Album includes photos of the McLean family in Fisherton, Ayrshire, Scotland. Jennie McLean Mann spent the duration of the Great War at her parents home in Scotland. There are wartime photos from both WWI and WWII in this album, however, only images from the family's time at Hatley Park (ca. 1911-1923) have been made available online.

William Michael Phillips attended HMCS Royal Roads from 1943-1945. He joined the Royal Canadian Navy and in 1949, he was accepted for pilot training, receiving his wings in May 1950. Born in 1926, he was killed during operational flying training on 13 November, 1950.

Images in this album show Charlie and Jennie Mann and their daughters, Helen and Joan in various locations throughout BC. However, only images from Hatley Park (ca. 1911-1923) have been made available online.

Images in this album were most likely collected by Dola Dunsmuir. There are around 100 pictures from Dola's school days at Miss Ransom and Miss Bridges’ School for girls in Piedmont, California, which she attended in 1920 at the age of 17. Also included are photos from a tour of the ruins in northern Europe after the Great War. Dola accompanied her sister, Muriel and husband Edward Molyneux on a road trip to such places as Cambrai, Lens, Rancourt, Vimy and Ypres. Also in this album are several pictures or Eileen Molyneux and Clifton Webb. Both performers on stage and in film, Eileen was a cousin of Edward Molyneux and long time friend of the Dunsmuir girls. Clifton Webb performed on stage several times with Eileen, including at the Paris nightclub co-owned by Edward Molyneux and Elsa Maxwell.

Malcolm Seafield Grant attended Royal Roads September to December in 1941, in the third class of RCNVR Special Entry cadets. The first five classes were also known informally as ‘90 Day wonders’, as their wartime training at HMCS Royal Roads was just over 3 months. Born 26 October, 1914, Grant worked as a sales engineer before joining the RCNVR. On 24 August, 1944, Grant was serving on board HMCS Alberni when the ship was sunk. He did not survive. Grant was posthumously awarded a Mention in Despatches for previous action on board HMCS Alberni.

Robert Ivan Loucks Annett attended HMCS Royal Roads from 1942 to 1943. He was in the first class to graduate from The Royal Canadian Naval College, Royal Roads. Born in 1924, he joined HMCS Athabaskan in 1943 and was lost when the Athabaskan was sunk on April 29, 1944. He had plans to become a journalist after the war and wrote articles for the Log yearbook while at Royal Roads.

George Alan MacLachlan attended Royal Roads September to December in 1941, in the third class of RCNVR Special Entry cadets. The first five classes were also known informally as ‘90 Day wonders’, as their wartime training at HMCS Royal Roads was just over 3 months. Born 31 January, 1922, MacLachlan was serving on HMCS Valleyfield when she was sunk by a U-boat on 7 May 1944.

George Bucknam Wright attended Royal Roads January to April in 1941, in the first class of RCNVR Special Entry cadets. The first five classes were also known informally as ‘90 Day wonders’, as their wartime training at HMCS Royal Roads was just over 3 months. Born 18 June, 1910, Wright worked for the Hudsons Bay Company before joining the RCNVR. On completing training, he joined HMCS Wetaskiwin and was later promoted to lieutenant. While posted to HMCS St Croix as Torpedo Officer, he lost his life when the ship was sunk on 20 September 1943.

Hugh Dunbar Sutherland Russel attended Royal Roads January to April in 1941, in the first class of RCNVR Special Entry cadets. The first five classes were also known informally as ‘90 Day wonders’, as their wartime training at HMCS Royal Roads was just over 3 months. Born 11 March, 1916, Russel was a surveyor before joining the RCNVR. After completing training in Canada, he was loaned to the Royal Navy. He is presumed to have lost his life on 12 December, 1942 when the submarine in which he was serving in the Mediterranean was posted missing, overdue.

John Molson Walkley attended Royal Roads January to April in 1941, in the first class of RCNVR Special Entry cadets. The first five classes were also known informally as ‘90 Day wonders’, as their wartime training at HMCS Royal Roads was just over 3 months. Born 25 July, 1915, Walkley worked for an insurance company before joining the RCNVR. On completing training, he joined HMCS Nanaimo, which was sunk by a U-boat on 16 June 1942. Lt. Walkley was awarded a posthumous Mention in Despatches for his salvage efforts during the capsizing.
