De Koninck, TRPT

Tristan Pierre Renee Therese De Koninck attended Royal Roads Military College from 1974-1976. Born in 1956, he joined the Air Force and was serving with the 425e Escadron d’Appui Tactique when he was killed in a crash near CFB Summerside, PEI on 24 May 1986.

Engineering Workshop & Storage Building

This file contains a book of architectural drawings pertaining to various buildings- it is cross-referenced to those buildings, but it sits in this file because it contains the only architectural drawings of the storage building and the only plans of the engineering workshop within the collection.

Images in this album show Charlie and Jennie Mann and their daughters, Helen and Joan in various locations throughout BC. However, only images from Hatley Park (ca. 1911-1923) have been made available online.

Note that Charlie's father, William Edward John Mann was often known as Fred, as was Charlie (Charles Frederick). Descriptions here refer to them as WEJ and Charlie to avoid confusion.

Family Album: Mann/McLean Family

Album includes photos of the McLean family in Fisherton, Ayrshire, Scotland. Jennie McLean Mann spent the duration of the Great War at her parents home in Scotland. There are wartime photos from both WWI and WWII in this album, however, only images from the family's time at Hatley Park (ca. 1911-1923) have been made available online.

Fleming, RR

Ronald Raymond Fleming attended Canadian Services College Royal Roads from 1956-1958. Born in 1937, he joined the Royal Canadian Air Force. He was stationed at CFB Edmonton, AB with 450 Transport Helicopter Squadron when he was killed in a training accident on 19 March, 1974.

Gates, RG

Robert George Gates attended Canadian Services College Royal Roads from 1964-1966. Born in 1946, he joined the Royal Canadian Air Force and served with the Aerospace Engineering and Test Establishment. He was killed in a helicopter crash near Cold Lake, AB on 6 April 1977.

Gorgichuk, CDDH

Claus Dieter Dietrich Heinz Gorgichuk attended Royal Roads Military College from 1975-1977. Born in 1957, he was a qualified pilot and was still attending RRMC when he took part in a college diving expedition on January 7, 1978. He drowned when he became trapped under ice.

Grant, MS

Malcolm Seafield Grant attended Royal Roads September to December in 1941, in the third class of RCNVR Special Entry cadets. The first five classes were also known informally as ‘90 Day wonders’, as their wartime training at HMCS Royal Roads was just over 3 months. Born 26 October, 1914, Grant worked as a sales engineer before joining the RCNVR. On 24 August, 1944, Grant was serving on board HMCS Alberni when the ship was sunk. He did not survive. Grant was posthumously awarded a Mention in Despatches for previous action on board HMCS Alberni.
